  • Two clean rooms for layup (850 m2 and 100 m2) with 5 m ceilings. The environment is controlled to 210C ± 20C and 50% ± 5% RH. Rooms are over pressurised to 0.15 mbar. Cleanliness level is Class 100 000 (US EDF STD 209E) and ISO 14644-1 Class 8. Virtek equipment provides laser assisted layup.
  • Composite prepreg cutting machine –
Lectra Vector TechTexFX 2500 automatic cutting machine
  • Two curing ovens, electrically heated, Class 5 (temperature controlled ± 50C)
  • Five axis CNC milling machine for trimming with an explosion proof dust extraction system
  • Seven axis profile following automatic ultrasonic inspection centre capable of inspection of both sandwich and monolithic construction
  • Autoclave – electrically heated, water cooled and nitrogen pressurised (3m Ø 8m long)
  • Ventilated and filtered extraction booth (12m x 11m) for safe hand trimming of components
